Pupil Support

The Pupil Support faculty encompasses the support, inclusion and pastoral needs of our pupils. Day to day, pupils are supported by the house teams, each of which consists of three key roles, Head of House, Depute Head of House and Pupil Care and Welfare Officer.

In addition, the Principal Teacher of Inclusion works in consultation with the house teams and oversees targeted support which could include alternative curriculum and support in a classroom setting.

Our faculty aims to coordinate excellent universal and targeted support for all young people at Kinross High School. This is achieved through;

  • Structured TSG (tutor support group) programme
  • PSE programme
  • Weekly house assemblies
  • Individual course choice meetings
  • Careers input delivered by Skills Development Scotland
  • Fortnightly house team meetings
  • Young Person Planning Meetings for targeted support
  • Alternative curricular provision when required
  • 16+ meetings to promote Positive Destinations for all
  • Integrated Team Meetings with partner agencies
  • Additional Assessment Arrangements where appropriate
  • College visits
  • Transition support

We are working with young people to develop their skills in building resilience, skills for life and promoting positive relationships with learning so our young people can function successfully in the world beyond school.
