For information on supporting study/revision please see here.

Parents/carers play a critical role in supporting young people. If you require support, please get in touch using the form below.

The House Pupil Support Team is responsible for universal and targeted support for pupils. They aim to ensure that all young people achieve their potential and will track, monitor and plan interventions for attendance, behaviour and attainment.

As a parent/carer you can support the school by directing all enquiries to the appropriate person in the first instance.

Wider Achievement

Within Kinross High School, we are keen to record and celebrate the wider achievement of all pupils. Learning about achievements that happen out with the school environment give a fuller picture of a young person's experience.

TSG teachers and the House Pupil Support Teams ask pupils to share their achievements throughout the year but many are too shy or modest to share their successes.

This form gives parents/carers the opportunity to let us know about achievements out of school and can be filled in at any point throughout the academic year. We will collate the responses from staff and parent/carers prior to the end of the school year to allow us to celebrate the wider achievements of all Kinross High School pupils.

Severe Weather Arrangements

As the cold and frost sets in, there is a risk that Kinross High School and the wider services of Loch Leven Community Campus may be impacted upon by severe weather.

While we are committed to remaining open, adverse weather and road conditions may make it necessary to make adjustments to the school day, campus opening hours or, in extreme cases, result in the full closure of the facility.

The graphic below provides information on how the Campus will communicate with you about changes to normal operating procedures. The main sources of information are:

  • Perth and Kinross Council Website - www.pkc.gov.uk/schoolclosures
  • Perth and Kinross Council Customer Services Helpline - 01738 475000
  • Radio Tay - FM 102.8/AM 1161 (FM96.4/AM 1584 - Perth area only)

In the event of a school closure, we would always expect pupils to have some work they can do in their own time such as class work through Google Classroom, homework and revision. There are a wealth of learning resources available to pupils through their Glow accounts such as e-Sgoil, SCHOLAR and WestOS.

School Counselling

As part of the Scottish government funded 'Counsellor in Schools' programme to support young people more widely, we are pleased to be working with school-based counsellor, Lesley White. Lesley is a member of the Place2Be team and as part of her work she will support children and young people from our cluster primaries and Kinross High School.

In joint partnership with The Lighthouse for Perth, the Rotary Club of Kinross and KYTHE, we are pleased to announce a new outreach service for young people in crisis on a Monday between 12 and 4pm. Pupils can self-refer or can speak to their guidance teacher.
