3) DNA and the Genome.
This course studies the relationships in the natural world and what determines physical characteristics. There is a practical element to the course and learners are shown how to investigate.
Learners are expected to have studied Biology successfully at National five level. If this was not the case entry would be accepted if the learner had shown strong performance in at least one other science at National five level.
Written exam (3 hrs) = 80%
Practical assignment = 20%
Provides a solid foundation to learn Advanced Higher Biology. Higher Biology is also often an entry requirement for study of many science and medical based courses at university.
